Milton Margai College Of Education And Technology Seeks Partnership With The Federal Republic Of Nigeria On Technical Education

The The Nigeria High Commissioner to the Republic of Sierra Leone His Excellency Amb. Henry John Omaku fcim (Giwan Doma) has identify technical education as the surest way for the economic development of any nation. Amb. Omaku stated this while playing host to the management and staff of Milton Margai College of Education and Technology Sierra Leone in his office today. He said, technology is what drives the world today and commended the institution for living above boards. The High Commissioner informed his guests that already, discussion is ongoing between the Commission and the Nasarawa State University, Keffi on the need for partnership between the University and some educational institutions in Sierra Leone.

Earlier, leader of the delegation and Principal of the instruction Dr. Philips John Kanu say they were at the Commission to Congratulate the High Commissioner for coming to Sierra Leone and to appreciate the government of Nigeria for the technical support it has been giving to the college and the country at large. Dr. Philips said the institution has been issued a certificate by the government of Sierra Leone to become a full-fledged Technical University and will begin academic session in a month time. He therefore appealed to the government of Nigeria to as a matter of necessity, assist the institution with the technical manpower in order to achieve its mandate of providing quality technical education to the Sierra Leone populace.

Milton Margai College of Education and Technology, formerly known as Milton Margai Teachers College, is a technical university located in Freetown, Sierra Leone established in 1963 and is named after Sierra Leone's first Prime Minister, Sir Milton Margai.
